Last Friday, we hosted the event “Family. Work. Future. What Can Germany Learn from Denmark?” here in Handewitt – and we look back on a thoroughly successful afternoon. ☀️
Together with the Bündnis für Familie Schleswig-Flensburg, the Handwerkskammer Flensburg, and the IHK Schleswig, we welcomed numerous guests and enjoyed inspiring input, honest insights, and many valuable conversations.
A special thank you goes to our guest speakers, including Claus Ruhe Madsen, Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Labour, Technology and Tourism of the State of Schleswig-Holstein. He impressively highlighted the central role families play in attracting and retaining qualified professionals.
Our sincere thanks also go to Peter Hansen from Regionskontor & Infocenter Padborg, who shared fascinating insights from his experience in the cross-border commuter region and emphasized how many similarities already exist between Denmark and Germany, as well as to Daniela Finke, emigration consultant, and Melanie Christiansen for enriching the afternoon with their perspectives. 🙏
The discussion surrounding the topic of work once again demonstrated how important a family-friendly working culture is – on both sides of the border. We take away many valuable ideas and are grateful for the inspiring exchange on how to better reconcile family life and career. 💡🤝
