Last Friday, 22 members of our TR team swapped their desks for the court and headed to the Hype Padel Club in Flensburg.
For many of us, it was our very first experience with padel. We therefore used the first hour to learn the rules, practise the basic shots and develop a feel for the game. Because as easy as padel may look at first glance, it really isn’t. Simply getting a feel for how much power to put into the ball so that it didn’t immediately fly out of bounds proved to be more challenging than expected.
The second hour became a little more competitive. In a small tournament, we were able to put what we had just learned into practice and compete in some exciting rallies. There was plenty of laughter, cheering, encouragement and even the discovery of one or two unexpected padel talents. 😉
And one thing we can say for certain after this afternoon: padel is definitely addictive. We now have quite a few more padel enthusiasts on the team!
